George, what was the title of the old 702 afsc? I retired in 95 after the new system came into effect. I was a 316x1L tactical AIM/AGM missile tech and in the early 80's after I came back from Iceland they merged it into the old 461x0 munitions field which is now 2W0x1 and we could either stay in the job but be merged into general munitions or retrain into other missile fields with openings. I went into air launched nuclear (SRAM/ALCM/ACM) 316x0T which converted to 2M0X1B (A is ICBM, other systems are gone). Been a while but if memory serves me right (and dont be offended if I'm wrong) the 702 field was admin, like orderly rooms and such - am I right? My guess would be it has been changed to 3S0x1 but I may be wrong. A lot has changed even since 95 - LE and SP are now "security forces" 3P0x1 rather than separated AFSCs. I was assigned to Chanute's LE SQ when Desert Shield started as I was an augmentee and they pulled us in as full timers for 2 yrs. We thought the change from blue and silver chevrons to subdued blue and green then fatigues to BDUs was bad back in the 80s...Wonder how many reading remember 1505's - on their way out when I went through Lackland.
