If she gets the discharge changed from General (under Honorable conditions) will she be able to join the Army then? And if she does get it changed how long will this process take?

How soon after you smoke weed will it take to show up on a UA?

I know how long it stays in the system by being stored in the fat. But how soon /or how long do you have before it begins storing in the fat and it shows positive.

Lora,

Your daughter will not be able join the Army. The Army is not accepting any prior service applicants with misconduct discharges, (i.e., positive urinalysis)

To those that say the recruiter's test is the same as MEPS, you are sadly mistaken. The MEPS tests can pick up smaller concentrations, depending on what drug they are testing for. For example, MEPS threshold for positive THC is 50 ng, 15 ng. Most at home tests, THE SAME TYPE YOUR RECRUITER USES, don't test that low. If you are using an at home kit, make sure you test your first piss of the day, right when you wake up. This will give you the most accurate reading.

If you are planning on joining the military, and are currently using, STOP! We don't need users in our ranks. Alcohol is a big enough problem to deal with. I do not want some high junkie watching my back, or throwing his static line around my neck when I jump. Grow some balls and tell your buddies no thanks. If your excuse for using is because you were so drunk you didn't know what you were doing, you're full of it, or you're an alcoholic, or both. We have enough alcoholics already, myself included;) Have some integrity and you'll never have to worry about the piss test coming up or the one you just took.

Afternoon everybody.

I go to MEPs this tuesday (31Jan2012) for the Marine Corps. On 15Jan2012 I was at a party in the Hamptons, completely shitfaced and ended up smoking a blunt with four other people. Prior to this incident, it had been almost a year since I was in contact with the stuff.

I am 5'11, 200 lbs and relatively physically active (run every other day, workout when not running). Should I push back my medical testing? Do you believe I will be clean? I'm drinking at least 150 fl. ounces of water a day.

first of all i want to thank each and every one of you for the service you have performed to protect me, my family, our country the great USA and all the other nations in which the US helps to protect.

about 6 years ago some douche bag drunk out of his mind creep tried to kill me with his 3/4 ton pick up truck. He almost broke my neck and has left me permanently injured. it was a gnarly accident and i must live with the nerve damage and pain almost everyday. that bum who caused the accident did a hit and run accident and evaded the cops for almost 2 weeks before they finally found the dude. you know what? HE GOT A MISDEMEANOR AND NO JAIL TIME! while i have a permanent injury and a stack of medical bills plus, post traumatic stress from the accident. essentially i'm bankrupt. but i feel blessed to be alive and blessed to be American. i feel blessed to have all of you serving your country and protecting me and my family.

the love of my life is the most honorable man i have ever known and he is in the airforce. he is a man of character, loyalty, trust and respect as well as a model military person serving his country as well as his 2 other brothers are airforce.

today he and i, we are thousands of miles apart and he just told me that tomorrow he must piss in a cup for a random drug test. he doesnt smoke weed but he went to a party last week and someone was puffin away. i have been crying and praying to the Lord all day i am so worried for him.

I do not know anyone and have never heard of anyone who has taken the life of another person or caused bodily harm to another person ,like that douche bag did to me in the drunk driving accident, because they smoked a joint. the worst thing i have heard from about a pot smoker is they eat everything in the fridge and then fall asleep on the couch holding the remote control!

there is no doubt when you serve your country the US government owns your ass and you must obey orders. But criminalization of marijuana is a prohibition that does not work at any level. until the legislation is passed to legalize it, it will be this way for all of you. i certainly do not feel any less safe by reading the posts on this site how you guys and your social lives and smokin' a few joints to take the edge off of the stress of a military service...i know you are all capable, to perform your service and job seriously. but the US government wants to cut down military personnel. the gov wants to trim down soldier, marines and the navy to fewer people. that means there will be higher scrutiny on all military personnel and especially your conduct will come into question. you must take care or you will get booted out with no VA benefits or loans...it would be a sad way to end a career.

i am a civilian but i believe that marijane should be legal and regulated like alcohol. if you can learn how to kill to protect your country you should be able to roll up and fire up! you who agree should encourage your US sentors and congress representatives to make it legal!

Wanted to let you all know that our daughter received her discharge papers today. We are hoping that with the GENERAL (UNDER HONORABLE) DISCHARGE she will be able to join the Army this is what she wants to do. She definately wants to be in the Military she has made the clear to us. Does anyone know if she will be able to join the ARMY and how soon that process will take place?
